"Ivana Kildsgaard has been named Pioneer of the Year at the Recycling Gala 2018. In tough competition with successful recycling innovations, she and the association the 100 Group — a platform for a sustainable and circular interior design industry — were named winner. Councilor for the Environment at the Swedish Government, Katarina Luhr, handed over the award together with Weine Wiqvist, CEO of Avfall Sverige, at the award ceremony."

"This is proof that the 100 Group's cooperation and common vision for the development of sustainable interiors is the right way to go. For reduced waste and increased recycling, clearer requirements are required in interior design projects, new business models and innovative solutions. Now the real work begins for the interior design industry." says Ivana Kildsgaard.

It was the vision of long-term collaboration that took the 100 Group and Ivana Kildsgaard to the top of the podium. The idea of collaborating between all actors in the interior design industry was judged by the jury to have a significant role in the development of sustainable concepts within the circular economy. The jury's reasoning was:

"With the vision of long-term cooperation for the continuous development of sustainable concepts in a circular economy, the winner is judged to be able to play a major role in making ideas about sustainable office interiors and shop interiors a reality."

"We take it for granted to protect clean streets and exhaust-free air, but we spend most of our time indoors. What does the furniture and materials we move among contain? What happens to them when we rebuild and renew? This type of collaborative project is exactly what is needed to raise the issue of recycling for our indoor environments as well." said the Councilor for the Environment at the Swedish Government, Katarina Luhr, after the award ceremony.
